Youth Fellows: build networks with other youth, York University students, Professors and Alum; increase your self-esteem and belief in your ability to make change; imagine new possibilities; and explore university or college campuses and requirements.
Eligibility:
• In grade 8 and will be attending grade 9 in either Emery C.I. or C.W. Jeffery H.S.
• Already in grades 9 to 11 in either Emery C.I. or C.W. Jeffery H.S.
Social Work Student Fellows: excellent opportunity for you to work collaboratively with other York University Students, Professors, Alum and youth to complete a social action project that addresses community issues; build bridges between theory and practice and ground academic concepts in real-world contexts; and earn volunteer hours or course credits.
Eligibility:
• You have been admitted into the BSW program at York University
• You are already in the BSW program at York University
Social Work Alum Fellows: stay connected to the School of Social Work, build connections with community members, current students, professional colleagues, and faculty members; participate in social action projects for social change; and enhance your understanding of youth and urban issues. Bring your knowledge of York’s critical approach to social work that is informed by a commitment to human rights, social justice, and anti-oppression, to NOISE, building a stronger School of Social Work and Jane/Finch community.
Eligibility:
• You are a graduate from either the BSW or MSW programs of the School of Social Work at York University, and
you are currently working in the social welfare field.
